Limb Trauma Educational Series – Reprogramming Stump Skin Identity to Enhance Prosthetic Use

The purpose of this presentation is to demonstrate the use of cellular treatment to mimic volar skin on the residual limb post-amputation. Additionally, the outcome of Phase One trials of the study will be reviewed.

At the end of this webinar, you'll be able to:

  1. Identify the properties of volar skin
  2. Explain the cellular therapy as potential avenue for limb loss treatment
  3. Evaluate the clinical relevance of the Phase 1 trial results

Luis Andres Garza, M.D., Ph.D. Is an expert in dermatology who teaches at Johns Hopkins University. He's the director of a molecular biology lab that investigates skin stem cells and wound healing. He graduated from the University of Pennsylvania School of Medicine's medical scientist training program with both an M.D. and a Ph.D. Dr. Garza completed his fellowship at the University of Pennsylvania after finishing his dermatology residency at the University of Michigan.
