Digital Technology

Digital technologies are the tools used by providers and patients to achieve better hearing health outcomes. They collect data to help doctors and researchers analyze the needs of service members and veterans. This can lead to new treatments and better practices to prevent hearing injuries and loss.

This is a tool used to collect and manage hearing test results. As a main system in our Joint Hearing Loss and Auditory System Injury Registry, it stores hearing test data for providers. This helps choose the best treatment for patients with hearing loss or hearing related injuries.

Benefits of ECAA

  • Ensures consistent hearing tests across the Defense Health Agency.
  • Collects hearing test data directly from testing equipment.
  • Stores all hearing data for DHA healthcare providers and researchers to access.
  • Updates patient demographic and appointment information in MHS GENESIS.
  • Makes it easier for providers to move without needing retraining.

If you need help with ECAA, submit a ticket through the MHS Service Help Desk (CAC-required). Your request will go to the AudBase support team. For urgent help, call AudSoft at 1-888-959-6790 with your ticket number.

This registry, known as JHASIR, is a program that tracks and manages hearing loss and auditory injuries for service members and veterans.

What it does:

  • Monitors all service-related hearing loss and injuries from 2001 to present.
  • Help doctors by providing detailed and long-term health data. This is useful when service members move from active duty to veteran care.
  • Tracks hearing health programs to ensure they are effective.
  • Makes data exchange easy between the DOD and Department of Veterans Affairs.
  • Helps to evaluate and improve hearing health programs and practices.

As of October 2019, JHASIR includes information on over 968,000 patients. This registry helps advance research, improve hearing health, and enhance the quality of life for service members and veterans.

We use data to improve hearing health for military service members and veterans. Our team simplifies complex information into clear insights that improve care and support better decisions.

We use data mining to find important information in large datasets. These insights help doctors, researchers, and policymakers understand and manage hearing loss. We use business intelligence tools to present data, making it easier for providers to improve patient care.

A key part of our work is the JHASIR. The registry collects and tracks data on hearing loss and ear injuries. It focuses on long-term outcomes and how effective treatments are. This information helps lead to better hearing health services.

The Remote Order Entry System is used for ordering hearing aids and other devices. It is an online system for ordering devices and for tracking orders.
After you place an order in ROES, it’s then sent to selected vendors. These vendors then make the custom order following your prescription.

In ROES, you can track:

  • Orders.
  • Invoices.
  • Costs.
  • Hearing test results.
  • Clinical outcomes.
