Medical Student Rotation Information

Thank you for your interest in the 96th Medical Group. We house the Eglin Family Medicine Residency, one of the oldest continuous Family Medicine Training Programs in the country. Our unique location by the Emerald Coast’s warm sand beaches provides for a welcoming atmosphere.

In this clerkship, students spend much of their rotation working closely with staff and resident family physicians in an outpatient setting seeing patients of all ages. Students are also exposed to several outpatient procedures including vasectomy, exercise treadmill testing, colposcopy, osteopathic manipulation, and numerous minor surgeries. Experience managing inpatients, obstetrical patients, and newborns is gained by working under the supervision of a resident and attending physician on the inpatient team. Students also spend time with our Sports Medicine trained physician in sports clinics. Finally, students receive didactic training through attending afternoon didactic sessions throughout their rotation.

Uniformed Services University of the Health Sciences core MSIII students are given orders to Eglin Air Force Base.
