Program Description

Welcome to the San Antonio Uniformed Services Health Education Consortium Multi-Disciplinary Pain Medicine Fellowship Program at Brooke Army Medical Center. Although the SAUSHEC Pain Medicine fellowship program is relatively new, it has become a vibrant educational and research-driven program since its inception in 2013. It is the largest Defense Health Agency joint service Multidisciplinary Pain Medicine fellowship that has trained specialists from Anesthesiology, Family Medicine, and Physical Medicine & Rehabilitation to date. The fellowship program boasts a 100% first-time pass rate of all graduating fellows who take the Pain Medicine Board Certification Examination and has attained the most diverse and multidisciplinary faculty of any Pain Medicine fellowship in the DHA. There are opportunities to join active research protocols or start new protocols with faculty support. Additionally, you are training at the largest military medical and training facility in the nation and will have the opportunity to care for a most deserving patient population with wide diversity of chronic pain conditions. We are confidant you will enjoy your time in the fellowship program and the camaraderie associated with working the Pain Medicine Clinic.
