Advanced Trauma Life Support (ATLS) Course

Format: Military Only, Resident, Exportable

Advanced Trauma Life Support® is a two-and-a-half-day, tri-service, continuing education, medical course sponsored by the American College of Surgeons.©  ATLS® prepares physicians to identify and respond to life-threatening traumatic injuries. We also feature an ATLS®-Operational Emphasis (ATLS®-OE) course that runs simultaneously with regular ATLS® courses. The ATLS®-OE course provides students with knowledge of the healthcare environment under military operations.

The content and skills presented in this course are designed to assist doctors in providing emergency care for the trauma patient. The ATLS® course provides the essential information and skills medical professionals can apply to identify and treat life-threatening, or potentially life-threatening, injuries under the extreme pressures associated with caring for patients in a fast-paced environment and the anxiety of the resuscitation room.

If you are an ATLS® instructor residing in the Continental United States and interested in teaching in the DMRTI program, please contact us for more information.

The ATLS® course offers CMEs for physicians and CEUs for non-physicians. Please contact the course coordinator for further information.
