Suicide Prevention - Connect to Protect: Help is Within Reach

The Military Health System (MHS) Monthly theme is Suicide Prevention - Connect to Protect: Help is Within Reach. The MHS will highlight that strength and resilience are possible through support networks and use of DOD and Department of Veterans Affairs (VA) resources.

Suicide Prevention and Total Force Fitness

Total Force Fitness focuses on seamlessly integrating fitness of every aspect of the mind, body, and spirit. This requires finding new ways to promote performance, readiness and overall wellness of service members, military families and all MHS patients.

Pain Management

September is also Pain Awareness month, during which the MHS will highlight pain management options and the need to synchronize pain management with a patient-centered experience. Educating beneficiaries on ways to be proactive and mindful in tackling pain challenges will also be part of September's discussion, including the need for opioid safety.

September Monthly Observances

September features several national health and military observances that you can consider highlighting on your channels. The observances in bold have graphics and content available on the September Social Media and Content page.
