OKINAWA, Japan — After McClure learned CPR/AED for Professional Rescuers through training provided by the American Red Cross, he put those new skills to use to save the life of a woman who began to choke during a meal at a café on the island. McClure stood up, asked the woman if she was choking, and advised he was going to assist using American Red Cross training techniques. In recognition of his lifesaving actions, the American Red Cross honored McClure with the Presidential Certificate of Merit.
