The MHS awards recognized health care professionals from across the military health enterprise.
Top military medical leaders helped present the awards, including Ms. Seileen Mullen, principal deputy assistant secretary of defense for health affairs; U.S. Army Lt. Gen. Telita Crosland, director of the Defense Health Agency; Dr. Jonathan Woodson, president of the Uniformed Services University of the Health Sciences; U.S. Army Surgeon General Lt. Gen. R. Scott Dingle; U.S. Air Force and U.S. Space Force Surgeon General Lt. Gen. Robert I. Miller; and U.S. Navy Surgeon General Rear Adm. Bruce L. Gillingham.
The awards spotlighted outstanding achievements in a range of topics including leadership, innovation, high reliability, management, and other elements of military medicine.

Rising Star Award
U.S. Public Health Service Cmdr. (Dr.) Elizabeth Davlantes received the Rising Star award. The award is given to an individual who early in his or her career has demonstrated success in clinical health care delivery or management, which has placed them on an ascending path to an executive leadership role. Davlantes was recognized for her leadership on national and international high-profile, high-impact initiatives for the Centers of Disease Control and Prevention and the USPHS.
Lifetime Achievement Award
Dr. Carol Romano, dean and professor at the Daniel K. Inouye Graduate School of Nursing at USU, received the Lifetime Achievement Award. The Lifetime Achievement Award marks a distinguished career of consistent excellence and is given to honor an individual who has made significant fundamental contributions to federal health care, either through a single transcendent act or a body of work. Romano developed the first graduate program in nursing informatics at the University of Maryland and served as the chief nurse officer for the U.S. Public Health Service.
