Blanchfield Army Community Hospital Deputy Commander for quality assurance, presented an award to representatives from the Department of Surgery and QA Division on behalf of the American College of Surgeons, Nov. 6, 2023. BACH is among 78 hospitals nationwide recognized under the National Surgical Quality Improvement Program for surgical patient care.

A ribbon-cutting ceremony was held at Womack Army Medical Center, signifying the official opening of the Joint Inpatient Dialysis Center on Dec. 1, 2023. This collaborative effort between WAMC and Fayetteville North Carolina Veterans Administration Health Care System began in 2018 and came to fruition on June 9, 2023.

Walter Reed is part of the Defense Health Agency’s Armed Services Blood Program (ASBP), a joint operation among the military services working to collect, process, store, transport and transfuse blood worldwide.

The Association for the Advancement of Blood and Biotherapies (AABB) recently reaccredited the Blood Services Department at the Walter Reed National Military Medical Center (WRNMMC) after conducting a year-long document review and recent on-site visit.
