Data Solutions Team Completes Largest Data Standardization and Migration Operation in Defense Health Agency History

Through Operation Helios, the Enterprise Intelligence and Data Solutions Program Management Office successfully moved two legacy data warehouses, MHS Data Repository (MDR) and MHS Mart (M2), along with over 1 petabyte of data into a centralized data analytics platform known as the MHS Information Platform or the MIP. The mass migration and modernization effort combined MDR and M2 data from on-premise Defense Information Systems Agency servers to the MIP for ease and security in validating, integrating, distributing and archiving DHA corporate health care data.

Military pathologists conduct tests on tissue, cells, and bodily fluids to diagnose disease and collaborate with other medical officers and technicians in performing anatomical and pathological examinations involving tissue preparation for microscopic analysis, such as biopsies and necropsies.

The College of American Pathologists (CAP) recently reaccredited the Department of Pathology and Laboratory Services at the Walter Reed National Military Medical Center (WRNMMC) after an extensive document review and an on-site visit by some of the country's best pathologists.
