Naval Medical Forces Pacific Commander Greets Sailors at USNS Mercy Homecoming

Rear Adm. Guido Valdes, director of the Defense Health Network Pacific Rim (DHNPR) and Commander, Naval Medical Forces Pacific, salutes a crew member returning from deployment aboard USNS Mercy (T-AH 19). Mercy returned to its homeport in San Diego after a four-month deployment in support of Pacific Partnership 2024. Pacific Partnership is the largest annual multinational humanitarian assistance and disaster relief preparedness mission conducted in the Indo-Pacific area of operations. Engagements between USNS Mercy’s crew and host nations ensure the international community is better prepared to respond to disasters by enhancing regional partnerships and fostering multinational cooperation and friendships.
