TRICARE Changes and You

The Military Health System (MHS) is modernizing to better serve you and respond to changes in law and policy. Over the coming months and years, you will see some significant changes to the TRICARE health plan. Most provisions went into effect on January 1, 2018, with full implementation occurring on January 1, 2019.

  • February 1, 2018: Pharmacy copayments will change.
  • December 31, 2018: TRICARE Retiree Dental Program will end.
  • January 1, 2019: You can start enrolling in the Federal Dental and Vision Program, if eligible.

New regional contractors will administer the TRICARE benefit for the East (Humana Military) and West (Health Net Federal Services, LLC) Regions.
