Composite Health care System (CHCS) is a fully integrated health care information system used in Department of Defense (DOD) Military Treatment Facilities (MTFs) and clinics. It is used to automate and integrate the functions performed by the hospital staff and to facilitate the delivery of health care and MTF's administration. Data elements include beneficiary information collected and used to support the delivery of health care to Defense Health Agency's (DHA) beneficiaries.
The Clinical Information System (CIS) is the U.S. military’s inpatient electronic health record. It is used in acute hospital environments, providing point-of-care data capture at the patient’s bedside for physiological devices, fetal/uterine devices, ventilators and other patient care machines.
The MedCard app allows Defense Health Agency pharmacies to capture and verify the validation dates of third party payers for Department of Defense beneficiaries. Additionally, the app provides the user a way to capture information on themselves and family members that may be helpful when interacting with a pharmacist.
