This includes garrison, operational, and en route care, increasing efficiencies for beneficiaries and healthcare professionals.

TRICARE Open Season is the annual period when you can enroll in or change your health care coverage for the next year. The next TRICARE Open Season is Nov. 14 – Dec. 13, 2022. Enrollment changes made during TRICARE Open Season will go into effect on Jan. 1, 2023.

The Defense Department's premier scientific meeting, the MHSRS is a joint symposium that provides a collaborative environment for military medical care providers with deployment experience, military scientists, academia, and industry to exchange information on research and health care advancements within the areas of Combat Casualty Care, Military Operational Medicine, Clinical and Rehabilitative Medicine, and Military Infectious Disease Research Programs. In February 2022, President Biden reignited the 2016 White House Cancer Moonshot initiative, an effort across multiple federal agencies aimed to reduce the death rate from cancer by at least 50 percent over the next 25 years. The initiative is also focused on improving the experience of people and their families living with and surviving cancer, with a goal to ultimately end cancer.

The Defense Health Information Technology Symposium is a three day annual conference, sponsored by the Defense Health Agency. DHITS attendees are government, military, and industry information technology professionals. The symposium provides a unique venue for knowledge sharing, innovative ideas, discussions of lessons learned, and the introduction of exciting new developments within the Military Health System.
