MHS GENESIS is the Military Health System's new electronic health record. When fully deployed, MHS GENESIS will provide a single health record for service members, veterans, and their families. MHS GENESIS:
- Enhances health, increases readiness, and improves safety
- Focuses on quality, safety, and patient outcomes to help advance enterprise objectives to transform the MHS into a high-reliability organization
- Standardizes clinical and business processes across the services and the MHS
- Enables beneficiaries to be fully engaged in their health care

Current Status of MHS GENESIS
As of July 2023, the Defense Health Agency has deployed MHS GENESIS to 119 parent hospitals and clinics through 19 ‘waves’ and the Initial Operating CapabilityMadigan Army Medical Center at Joint Base Lewis-McChord, WA; Naval Hospital Bremerton at Naval Station Bremerton, WA; Naval Health Clinic Oak Harbor, Naval Air Station Whidbey Island, WA; and the 92nd Medical Group, Fairchild Air Force Base, WA.Initial Operating Capability. More than 164,000 DHA providers are using MHS GENESIS to provide health care to more than 6.6 million potential beneficiaries.
MHS GENESIS Patient Portal
The MHS GENESIS Patient Portal is a secure website for 24/7 access to your health information, including managing appointments and exchanging messages with your care team. The new patient portal is launching at sites as MHS GENESIS deploys, replacing the TRICARE Online Secure Patient Portal.
