The Hearing Center of Excellence, or HCE, collaborates with various local, national, and international organizations, academic institutions, and industry leaders to promote collaboration, set research standards, and develop clinical practice guidelines. These guidelines inform healthcare providers about the care and treatment of those with hearing loss and auditory system injuries.

HCE’s planning efforts place an emphasis on creating an efficient system to encourage and facilitate the collaborative use of research efforts and promote the development of clinical guidelines and educational tools. Relevant references and guiding practices are available through:

The Hearing Center of Excellence fosters and promotes the prevention, diagnosis, mitigation, treatment, rehabilitation and research of hearing loss and auditory injury. It supports the development, exchange and adoption of best practices, research, measures of effectiveness and clinical care guidelines to reduce the prevalence and cost of hearing loss and tinnitus among Warriors and Veterans.
