Patient Movement Coordination Cell (PMCC)

Definition:

A cell that coordinates and integrates National Disaster Medical System (NDMS) operational planning, alerts, activations, and de-activations in order to establish and maintain an NDMS patient movement common operating picture for Department of Health and Human Services (HHS) and the interagency partners. The Patient Movement Coordination Cell (PMCC) will determine which Federal Coordinating Center (FCCs) are to be alerted and eventually activated. The PMCC is composed of a representative(s) from the Offices of the Assistant Secretary of Defense for Health Affairs (ASD(HA)) and Assistant Secretary of Defense for Homeland Defense and Global Security (ASD(HD&GS)); HHS; VA; Department of Homeland Security (DHS);U.S. Northern Command (USNORTHCOM); U.S. Pacific Command (USPACOM); U.S. Transportation Command (USTRANSCOM); the Military Services; and the DHA, as required. The PMCC also includes NDMS patient movement partners (e.g., interagency partners, state health departments, FEMA Regional Emergency Coordinators).
