    Preventive services, routine immunizations and health screenings are the best defenses against serious illnesses and preventable diseases.

    The Military Health System is committed to the long-term health and vitality of our nation’s warfighters, their families, retirees, and civilians. Part of maintaining readiness is preventing the onset of diseases and injuries that pose a threat to the Defense community. This month, MHS focuses on preventive health and encourages the Department of Defense community to become more proactive in protecting their health. To this end, we will spotlight TRICARE’s free preventive medical services as well as daily lifestyle changes that help prevent illness and ensure a medically ready force and healthy defense community.
