Ambulatory Procedure Visits

Definition:

Formerly referred to as “same day surgery.” A type of outpatient visit in which immediate pre-procedure and post-procedure care requires an unusual degree of intensity and is provided in an ambulatory procedure unit. Care is required in the facility for less than 24 hours.
