Definition:

A health care professional who may be classified as “privileged” or “non-privileged.” “Privileged providers” include licensed physicians, advanced practice nurses, physician assistants, independent duty corpsman, oral surgeons, optometrists, residents (other than postgraduate year ones), physical and occupational therapists, and other qualified health care providers. “Non-privileged providers” includes those providers who provide services incident to written orders of privileged providers (e.g., nurses, technicians, independent duty medical technicians).
