Deputy Assistant Director Acquisition (DAD-A)

About Us

The DHA Director delegated to the Assistant Director for Management (AD-M) the authority to serve as the DHA Component Acquisition Executive (CAE) and Senior Procurement Executive (SPE). As the DHA CAE, the AD-M is responsible for all acquisition functions for DHA and is charged with overall acquisition management responsibilities. These management responsibilities include any and all of the activities for the conceptualization, initiation, design, development, test, contracting, production, deployment, integrated product support, modification, and disposal of systems (information technology, medical devices, etc.), supplies, and services (including construction) to satisfy DHA or DoD needs, intended for use in, or in support of military missions. In addition, the AD-M is responsible for training of the Defense Acquisition Workforce and activities in support of the Planning, Programming, Budgeting and Execution process for a directed, funded effort that provides a new, improved, or continuing capability (systems, service) in response to an approved need.


Component Acquisition Executive

AD-MGMT/CAE is comprised of five divisions including Administration & Management, Acquisition, Strategy & Innovation, Education &Training and Research and Development. In addition to these areas, the Department directly oversees the DHA transition plan as it assumes authority, direction, and control (ADC) of all Medical Treatment Facilities (MTF) within the Department of Defense (DOD). Our goal is to optimize processes in order to improve the efficiency of medical support while minimizing costs and maximizing medical readiness.
