Vaxchora, which received its FDA license in 2016, is a single dose oral vaccine that contains live attenuated cholera bacteria. WWII Pearl Harbor 75th Anniversary

On the 75th anniversary of the Pearl Harbor attack, more than 25 World War II veterans, including seven Pearl Harbor survivors, were present at the World War II Memorial in Washington, D.C., for the commemoration. Each veteran was adorned with a red, white and blue quilt as he was individually introduced. Here, a veteran salutes as he receives his quilt during the ceremony. Several of the veterans were greeted by Sen. John McCain and Vice President-elect Mike Pence as the ceremony began.

Mainer WWII

Ninety-five year old Harold Mainer, a Pearl Harbor survivor and World War II veteran, traveled from Arkansas to Washington, D.C. for the 75th anniversary commemoration at the World War II Memorial on Dec. 7, 2016. At the time of the attack, he was 20 years old and was stationed on the USS Helena. In the days after the attack, he helped with recovery efforts, taking the injured and deceased to hospitals. He served in the Navy throughout the remainder of the war and participated many battles after Pearl Harbor.
