Definition:
The application of DOD standard medical logistics business processes, information systems, and collaborative management to provide the life cycle management of specialized medical products and services required to deliver military health care across the range of military operations. These include medical materiel (supplies, gases, equipment, assemblages), medical equipment and its maintenance (including medical repair parts), blood distribution, optical fabrication, medical facilities management, medical logistics services, and medical contracting.
