Ultrasound Technologist

The Diagnostic Medical Sonographer Clinical Training Program provides students the technical skills and knowledge required to achieve entry-level competencies and perform the duties of a Diagnostic Medical Sonographer at fixed medical treatment facilities and field environments.

The program provides education and training in the major disciplines of:

  • Ultrasound physics
  • Sonography of the abdomen
  • Small parts sonography
  • Basic vascular sonography
  • Sonography of the pelvis
  • Obstetrical sonography

Instruction may include computer- based or blended learning options and consists of:

  • Lectures
  • Group activities
  • Demonstrations
  • Hands-on instruction
  • Clinical practice
  • Practical exercises
  • Computerized and written examinations
