Urology Technician

The Urology Technician Clinical Training Program provides students with a basic knowledge of urological care and training to function as clinical and surgical technicians under the supervision of a Urologist or physician.

The program includes simulated and clinical training in:

  • Embryology
  • Anatomy and physiology of the genitourinary system
  • Related cancers
  • Radiology and laboratory procedures
  • Surgical and clinical procedures
  • Pre- and post-operative care
  • Minor surgery

Students are trained to assist in:

  • Clinic management
  • Patient treatment
  • Operating room procedures

Emphasis is placed on:

  • Outcomes-based practice
  • Performance improvement
  • Safety techniques
