Med Hawks Execute Health Response Team Training

Airmen from the 8th Medical Group completed expeditionary medical support health response team, known as EMEDS HRT, training on Feb. 13. EMEDS are modular, scalable, rapid-response medical packages that can be used in humanitarian, wartime, or response efforts, and training focused on tent setup and equipment checks.

The training focused on emergency airlift support via UH-1N Huey during certain medical situations, testing both squadrons’ response to potential real-world scenarios.

Correlation Between Mean Temperature and Incidence of Tick-borne Diseases Among Active Duty Service Members in the Contiguous U.S., 2000–2023

This study identifies the incidence of the two tick-borne diseases, Lyme disease and Rocky Mountain spotted fever, that are most frequently diagnosed within the Military Health System among active component U.S. service members and evaluates the correlation between temperature and incidence of each tick-borne disease.
