Emergency, Labor and Delivery teams’ readiness ensures safe care for mother and newborn
Hearing a driver shout, “Help, my wife is having a baby!” was not how Patrizia Brown, a certified nursing assistant in the Women’s Health Clinic at Carl R. Darnall Army Medical Center, expected to start her morning Oct. 7. But at about 7 a.m., as Brown was leaving the parking garage, she heard the call for help and a car hon and sprang into action, running toward the vehicle and directing the driver to the emergency department entrance.
