Lt. Col. (Dr.) Alan A. Dupré

Director of Graduate Medical Education

Lieutenant Colonel Alan Dupré serves as a member of the executive staff as the Director of Graduate Medical Education and Designated Institutional Official at 81st Medical Group, Keesler Air Force Base, Mississippi. Lt. Col. Dupré is responsible for the strategic direction and comprehensive oversight of medical and health education programs at Keesler Medical Center. He oversees the training of 62 residents across GME (General Surgery and Internal Medicine), an Advanced Education in General Dentistry, and two Allied Health Programs (Physician Assistants and Doctor of Nurse Practitioner). He ensures these programs produce highly competent and adaptable clinicians equipped to meet the complex healthcare demands of military operations and humanitarian missions. Through collaborative partnerships with federal, state, and local entities, Lt. Col. Dupré promotes innovation and advancement in graduate medical education within the Gulf Coast region, the U.S. military, and U.S. Veterans Affairs. As the Chair of the GME Committee, he guarantees Keesler Medical Center's medical and dental programs meet rigorous accreditation standards through collaboration with the Defense Health Agency, hospital departments, and graduate education stakeholders.

Lt. Col. Dupré is originally from Shelbyville, Kentucky. He earned his Bachelor of Science in Business Management from Brigham Young University in 2007, followed by his Doctor of Medicine from the Uniformed Services University and completion of his Emergency Medicine Residency at Wright State University in 2014. Lt. Col. Dupré commissioned in the Air Force in June 2007, and began his service as Medical Officer at Wright-Patterson AFB, OH in 2011. Prior to his current role, he served as the Emergency Medicine Residency Military Program Director, overseeing 52 medical residents and 126 faculty members. He continues to serve as a Faculty Development Instructor for USUHS in Bethesda, Maryland. His distinguished military career includes positions such as Emergency Medicine Clerkship Director, Residency Assistant Program Director, and Medical Director.
