Independent Duty Medical Technician

The Independent Duty Medical Technician Clinical Training Program provides mandatory training for personnel prior to operating a medical aid station at remote or isolated duty locations. Students also support non-medical field units, government agencies, and joint service missions as directed by DOW.

Instruction covers:

• Obtaining medical histories,
• Assessing, treating, and documenting patient care
• Emergency medical, dental, and surgical procedures to stabilize patients for evacuation

Training includes preventive medicine and food safety inspections in lieu of public health and bioenvironmental personnel.
